Hmm, I just read a newsletter by this couple named Richard and Karen about this younger couple they met....

Having been to Cue, I can well imagine this encounter and can't help wondering if spoon eaters would be more welcome in the 'Near Cue' or the Far Que' Bar 🤔

It's a great question, Joyce. Near Cue would be definitely have to be my guess.

Loved this! I also find it really interesting to watch couples interact. Those little "scolding" moments that aren't really tellings off are fascinating. Also I love the fact they called the bar Far Cue.

Thanks, Tom! Makes you wonder about your own behavior sometimes and what other people are thinking haha.

I've been long on the side of work is a show up and get paid deal. But that may be, as it seems to me, that there are jobs that are worth going to in and of themselves. It just so happens that I'm not sure how one goes about getting into one of those jobs and keeping a roof over a family's head too.

So I keep my eyes open for my shot at one of those, and in the meantime I'm glad that there are people who will do the work that keeps everything going from checkout gal at the grocer, file clerk at the court, or that guy at the auto shop who's changing my oil because I would rather be browsing the bookstore next door.

It's a great point, Mike. I'm sure we all toggle between different variations of work and what that means to us, what purpose it serves etc. For me, art has often been this thing that brings me joy on the side and so I try to protect that by having a job separate to it. We're all on our own journey to figure out what works best for us, I think.
