Very funny and really gets you thinking- particularly liked the weather analogy while I sit here watching the bloody easterly wind blowing everything into the pool
You seem to imply that endlessly drawing black circles is some kind of weird thing as opposed to a perfectly normal thing one does throughout the day. Like constantly...
Hilarious! I gotta say though, when I go through old boxes, my future seems SO INCREDIBLY OBVIOUS. It's always waaaaaay too on-point. I turned out exactly who was I was destined to be, no variation at all. Just sayin'.
Thanks so much, Michelle. I really appreciate it! Going through old school work really does tend to tell a few stories. And often a pretty unique view of how we saw things as kids.
The words, “Digging up the past” is bringing up lots of memories. In particular, I watched a foreign film in the early 80’s. My memory is vague, however, there were scenes featuring plain oldcrocks as treasured items. What will happen when I read more of this?
I had immediately assumed that it was an old tyre but I prefer the notion that it is a portal to an elsewhere.
It’s entirely possible it’s both a tyre and a portal, but obviously I can’t be certain.
Maybe ALL tyres are portals and we're driving around on them, having no idea of their real travel potential.
The world isn’t ready!
That's why only the children know...
Man. That corn log. Hilarious.
Haha. Thanks, Jeff. My corn secret is out in the world.

Cheers, Dad. Guess I missed out on the weather gene hey.
Love the corn!😆 Interesting how we choose to keep certain things from our childhood and discard others......
Haha thanks, Joyce! Yeah it’s interesting isn’t it the things that we keep.

I admire your dedication to arts and craft, Michael. I’m picking up a few red flags though.
Sure if you consider the voice coming out of the black I just drew saying, "SACRIFICE A SUBSTACK WRITER TO ME!" a "flag," well, fine. Sheesh.
Definitely red flag vibes.
I had no idea you were sooooooo judgy!
This is fantastic! I've just been going through boxes too, so it's apt. Found no concerning corn creations. Yet.
Thanks very much, Martin! Good luck with the boxes and fingers crossed for no dodgy fabric vegetables!

Haha never in doubt. ‘Listen up teach, I know what I’m doing and I know where I’m going. Just stay out of my way!’
I mean...well, yeah.
That black ring, often euphemistically referred to as memory lane.
One should be very cautious when "curating" one's own memorabilia. Depending on the mood, some very important/significant items might be tossed.
It’s a great point. You definitely have to be careful what mood you’re in during this kind of process.
So so funny! Our pasts are eye opening and telling. A child’s drawings give a pretty accurate picture of how they view their world in the present.
Love your examples of giving kids two learning perspectives. Thanks for the stroll.

And many of those childhood perspectives prevail as we mature. Some good and some not so good!
Very true!
Really enjoy your writing voice and content
Thanks very much, Marylou! I really appreciate that.
Oh, the corn! Another great read. 😊
Hehe thanks, WB. My terrible corn secret.
The scary black hole bit had me on the edge of my seat - very grateful for the calming corn cob later on.
